It was an evening to cherish for the record breaking NSW Cerebral Palsy Football team who took out the prestigious “Team of the Year with a Disability” award at the 2019 NSW Sports Awards ceremony held at The Star, Sydney on Monday 18th of November.

The victorious CP team picked up yet another Championship after recently being crowned 2019 National Champions for the fourteenth year at Valentine Sports Park.

Seven of the NSW representative players were also selected to represent the Pararoos at the recent World Cup held in Spain that only further pushed the message on how strong the team was this season.

The Ian Menzies coached side beat the likes of the NSW Blind Cricket National Inclusion Championships team, NSW Country Ivor Burge Women’s Basketball side, NSW Marie Little OAM Shield Netball team, NSW Wheelchair Rugby League side and the Wollongong Roller Hawks Basketball team.

Football was well represented on the evening as Football NSW was a nominee in the Organisation of the Year award while Football NSW’s long serving Risk Manager and State Member Protection Officer Michelle Hanley was a finalist in the ‘Administrator of the Year’ award.
