Enfield Allstars v Inner West Magic

Bottom-side Enfield Allstars face a shaky Inner West Magic at Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre on Friday night.

It’s been a tough year for Enfield who’ve scored just seven goals and conceded 50 in 10-straight losses, but they’ve shown moments of resilience in the face of adversity, such as giving comp leaders Mascot a real run for their money in a 2-0 defeat just two weeks ago.

And it doesn’t get any easier for them as they face old foes Inner West, although Magic have only won two of their last five matches to show a bit of the wobbles of late.

Despite the inconsistency Inner West are third just three points behind Mascot and Campbelltown, so a third premiership on the trot is still within their reach.

Magic have won 12 of their past 16 Allstars meetings, including the last nine straight, with perennial Rhianna Pollicina scoring 15 times.

And as both sides feature the leakiest defenses – Inner West conceding 34 goals (the most they’ve leaked in a season was 40 in 2013/14) – don’t be surprised to see a cricket-scoreline at stumps.

Mountain Majik v Mascot Vipers

Mountain Majik host Mascot Vipers at Valentine Sports Park on Saturday afternoon with purpose set in front of them both.

A gut-wrenching one-goal loss to Inner West on the weekend spoiled a golden Mountain run that saw them suddenly emerge as a real finals threat.

They now sit five points off top-four pace and can kiss the playoffs goodbye with defeat this Saturday.

Mascot too have plenty on the line: They scooted clear of everyone following six-straight wins to start the summer but have only won once in the four games since then (a 2-0 victory versus winless Enfield) to now be under siege with their next three runs scheduled against top-four teams.

Historically, Vipers have won seven fixtures to Majik’s five and enjoyed an 8-2 round-four romp to place them in the box seat this time round.

Eastern Suburbs Hakoah v Campbelltown Quake

It’s a top-four showdown when Eastern Suburbs Hakoah face Campbelltown Quake at All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday night.

Easts are coming good at the right end of the season with four wins from their last five runs and can set a cat among the pigeons should they displace Campbelltown this weekend.

But Quake have also been quite good of late despite missing a heap of regular starters, their young brigade carrying the torch brilliantly to join Mascot at the top of the table.

So, with a possible premiership well within reach, you can expect Campbelltown to bring their A-game.

Quake have claimed all three fixtures versus Hakoah; they won 3-1 in round four.

UTS Northside v Boomerangs FS

Boomerangs FS face a long drive to play UTS Northside at PCYC Dee Why on Saturday night.

The Territorians will most probably miss the finals but have put in some incredible displays this season, including whacking Inner West 5-0 a couple of weeks ago, a fortnight after beating frontrunners Mascot 3-2.

And you can bet on them trying their best to spoil every other team’s playoff parties, including Northside who are yet to string together back-to-back victories as they chase a fifth-straight post-season appearance.

UTS have beaten Boomerangs in all three meetings, including a 2-0 round-four shutout in Canberra, and they’ll need to repeat the dose should they want to improve their current sixth-place standing.

2019-20 Women’s Futsal Premier League round-12 preview

Mountain Majik v UTS Northside

It’ll be all guns blazing from Mountain Majik when they host playoff-player UTS Northside at Blacktown Leisure Centre on Sunday afternoon.

Depending on round-11 results it could be Mountain’s last throw of the finals dice with Northside also hoping for a top-four spot.

The northerners have finished fourth in their last four seasons but currently sit precariously just behind fourth place, so they’ll want a double-victory this weekend to keep their finals sequence running.

UTS can take solace in beating Majik seven times in 12 meetings, but a 1-1 round-five draw (their only stalemate) and the fact that only three times has the winning margin between the sides been more than two goals shows that this won’t be an easy task.

Boomerangs FS v Enfield Allstars

It’ll most probably be a game of pride between Boomerangs FS and Enfield Allstars at the AIS Training Halls on Sunday afternoon.

With both sides enduring difficult seasons there won’t be much to play for other than bragging rights, which is currently held comfortably by the Territorians as Enfield’s only won one of their past seven meetings.

Inner West Magic v Campbelltown Quake

Buckle up folks it’s Inner West Magic versus Campbelltown Quake at Valentine Sports Park on Sunday afternoon.

Campbelltown currently lie alongside Mascot at the top of the table but only three points ahead of Inner West, and with both sides harbouring premiership ambitions there’s sure to be plenty of on-court gung-ho.

Magic command the historical balance with 10 wins to Quake’s four (one draw), and Campbelltown haven’t win this fixture since January 2015 – an eight-game winning run for Inner West.

Even more terrifying for the ‘Towners, scoring machine Rhianna Pollicina has an appetite for playing Quake with 11 goals in those eight Magic victories.

As a sidenote, current Quake coach Mel Keith opened the scoring in Campbelltown’s memorable 4-0 shutout of Inner West back in the 2012/13 elimination semi-final – and good memories can always create better ones.

Mascot Vipers v Eastern Suburbs Hakoah

Mascot Vipers tackle Eastern Suburbs Hakoah in a feature-match at All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre on Sunday night.

Mascot have been frontrunners all summer but, following a dour month of results, have drawn a heap of teams back into premiership consideration.

This has included Easts who are fourth just four points behind them, placing extra emphasis on the result of this match.

Vipers have claimed the last two encounters, including a 6-3 round-five romp, but this followed an embarrassing 2-9 defeat to Hakoah in last season’s debut top-flight meeting.
