Round 13 marks the penultimate round of Futsal Premier League 2 Open Womens action with the sprint for finals football headed into the final dash. We have four exciting clashes which includes a top four Match of the Round to enjoy on Saturday.

Match of the Round: Raiders Futsal Club vs South Coast Taipans, Saturday 7 December, 5:40pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

This weekend’s Match of the Round sees a top four clash between Raiders Futsal Club and South Coast Taipans at Thomas Hassell Anglican College Saturday night.

It was a successful double header weekend for South Coast Taipans with a 7-nil thrashing against SD Raiders Futsal and a forfeit against Sydney Futsal Club. Raiders Futsal Club had a draw and a loss but remain in fourth just.

These two sides played out an entertaining Grand Final last season and this game will have a similar feel with the stakes on the line for both teams. For the home side, Vanessa Ciabatti moved into double figures and alongside Amanda Radmillo and Nicole Ossio will provide a stiff attack for the Taipans to shut down.

Taipans have geared up for their tilt at finals football with three successes in their last four contests scoring 11 goals in the process. Coach Bobby Mazevski’s side have played “good futsal” in patches and need a full 50-minute performance against Raiders Futsal Club.

SD Raiders Futsal vs Dural Warriors, Saturday 7 December, 3:20pm, Fairfield Youth & Leisure Centre

Premiers Dural Warriors look to continue their unbeaten run with a contest against SD Raiders Futsal on Saturday afternoon at Fairfield Youth & Leisure Centre.

Now that the first task has been completed in securing the Premiership, unbeaten Dural Warriors will look to mirror their Open Mens side and finish unbeaten. SD Raiders Futsal battled hard but lost both their games last weekend.

Stopping the fearsome Dural Warriors attack is a tough task for any side with the visitors already plundered a formidable 75 goals this season while conceding four. Rachel Perrins takes the headlines with 23 goals but Bianca Dobson and Ellen Wheatley have provided some important goals for Dural.

For the youthful SD Raiders Futsal side, it is about improving themselves each week. They got their first taste of success a fortnight ago, now aim to turn it into consistent performances. There is plenty of talent for them to build around including Paris Kambouris and Ella Kumpulainen.

Phoenix Futsal Club vs West City Crusaders, Saturday 7 December, 5:25pm, PCYC Hornbsy

Phoenix Futsal Club are on the outside looking into the finals and host West City Crusaders Saturday afternoon at PCYC Hornsby.

It was a mixed weekend for Phoenix Futsal Club with their huge win against SD Raiders Futsal followed by their 7-2 loss to Sydney City Eagles in Sunday’s Match of the Round. Crusaders didn’t leave the double-header weekend empty handed after a 3-3 draw with the Eagles.

Phoenix Futsal Club might be on the outside looking into the finals picture but it is all in their hands in the final fortnight of the competition. Sarah Moore produced some quality pieces of work against SD Raiders Futsal and the Eagles scoring four goals and is key to their success again this weekend.

For the Crusaders, their last two games represent an opportunity to move themselves into lone possession of sixth spot which they currently share with SD Raiders Futsal. They will look to their two main goal threats Dione King and Kaitlin Harms to help with that task.

Sydney Futsal Club vs Sydney City Eagles, Saturday 7 December, 6:20pm, All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre

Sat in third Sydney Futsal Club welcome the surging Sydney City Eagles to All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre for an interesting clash on Saturday evening.

The home side played in a thrilling 5-5 draw against finals contenders Raiders Futsal Club which has them continue to be sat in third spot on the Futsal Premier League 2 ladder. Sydney City Eagles had a wonderful weekend taking four points in their two contests.

Double header weekend was a welcome relief for Sydney City Eagles as they put together two comfortable performances to score 10 goals across the weekend. Montana Bolzan and Elena Antic were electric in their work and if they can repeat the dose could take a huge scalp this weekend.

For Sydney Futsal Club, they will secure finals football with one more result in their next two contests and at home they’ll look to do so. Zoe Yeats and Morgan Maxwell continue to lead from the front for Sydney and a reason they have improved this season.
