Round 14 sees the conclusion of what has been a fantastic season in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Womens competition. We have three of the four spots in the finals series worked out and have a shootout between Phoenix Futsal Club and Raiders Futsal Club for the last one in a big weekend of fustal.

Match of the Round: Sydney City Eagles vs Dural Warriors, Saturday 14 December, 4:30pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

There is one game standing between Dural Warriors and the undefeated regular season as they travel to the south west to take on Sydney City Eagles on Saturday afternoon.

Dural Warriors moved to thirteen games unbeaten with a comfortable 9-nil result against SD Raiders Futsal in their last adventure to the south west. Sydney City Eagles never got started against Sydney Futsal Club in a 6-2 loss.

Runaway Golden Boot leader Rachel Perrins can put a cherry on top of her fantastic season which has seen her net 28 times thus far. Dural Warriors across the board have a staggering 84 goals on the season and can further add to that against the Eagles.

Sydney City Eagles have battled hard this season. They might not have the results but have plenty to build upon for future seasons with their talent. If given room and space, Jessica Beale and Montana Bolzan could spring the upset for the home side.

SD Raiders Futsal vs Sydney Futsal Club, Saturday 14 December, 3:20pm, Fairfield Youth & Leisure Centre

Sydney Futsal Club travel to SD Raiders Futsal Saturday afternoon aiming to build on their two-game unbeaten streak at Fairfield Youth & Leisure Centre.

The third place Sydney Futsal Club side put a half dozen away against Sydney City Eagles in their final home game of the season last weekend while SD Raiders Futsal were the latest to fall by the sword of the Dural Warriors by a heavy margin.

Home side SD Raiders Futsal started the season firing but the young squad will have taken some valuable lessons from their work. In Paris Kambouris and Ella Kumpulainen SD Raiders have found talent to build their squad around for next season.

2019 has been a brighter time for Sydney Futsal Club who have already booked their place in the finals series after a consistent season. Georgia Manos and Zoe Yeats have been best perfomers alongside Morgan Maxwell which has propelled them to this feat and help them land their eighth win this weekend.

South Coast Taipans vs West City Crusaders, Saturday 14 December, 3:50pm, UOW Sports Hub

South Coast Taipans look to gear up for the finals with a final game at UOW Sports Hub against West City Crusaders on Saturday afternoon.

The Taipans will want to bounce back after their 3-1 loss to fellow finals contenders Raiders Futsal Club in last weekend’s Match of the Round. West City Crusaders were defeated 6-nil by Phoenix Futsal Club down at PCYC Hornsby.

Last weekend was a downbeat performance from the Taipans, so coach Bobby Mazevski will have drilled his side all week to be ready to remedy that at home. Danika Matos scored their lone goal against Raiders Futsal Club and alongside Ashley Kotevski and Kya Stewart will be their key to victory for them.

West City Crusaders can end their season on a high if they can claim the scalp of South Coast Taipans on Saturday afternoon. They can confirm themselves as the best of the rest with a result and will lean on Dione King and Kaitlin Harms to help them overturn the Taipans.

Phoenix Futsal Club vs Raiders Futsal Club, Saturday 14 December, 4:35pm, PCYC Hornsby

Saturday’s game at PCYC Hornsby is a direct shootout between Phoenix Futsal Club and Raiders Futsal Club for the final spot in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Womens finals.

Both sides come into the contest firing on all cylinders. Phoenix Futsal Club put together one of their best performances in a 6-nil success against West City Crusaders. Raiders Futsal Club struck early and often to defeat South Coast Taipans 3-1.

This week looms as a huge one for Raiders Futsal Club. They have their Futsal Cup final against Inner West Magic mid-week where they try to cause the upset and lift the trophy. Following that is their chance to confirm their finals spot which will be off the back of the form of Vanessa Ciabatti and Mia Conners in the goal department.

Phoenix Futsal Club have a simple scenario – win and you’re in. They have shown in previous weeks they can pile on goals when they need them. Sarah Moore and Isabel Gomez give the Phoenix a solid one-two punch that will have to be dealt in this exciting contest.
