Female football was the focus at Canterbury District FA’s Strathfield FC’s inaugural Female Football Festival.

As part of the International Womens Day celebrations, the initiative from the club promoted the important role women play in developing the world game.

The Festival consisted of a variety of small sided games from Under 12’s right through to the All Age Women.

Winners were presented with plaques and trophies, including Players Player and Golden Boot awards for each age group.

The landmark day also consisted of live music, food vendors and guest appearances from Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC.

Sydney FC’s Veronica Latsko and Lindsay Agnew provided invaluable support to recognise the achievements by female players, officials and volunteers.

Alongside Football NSW, Community Bid Champion Gab Dracopoulos and several council members including, Jodi McKay, Maryanne Duggan and Karen Pensabene were also in attendance to help celebrate women’s football and International Women’s Day.

What was a great day celebrating female football, Strathfield FC is eager for the 2021 Female Football Festival.
