Around the Grounds @ Nineveh Stadium

Untitled-design-1-13

Known as one of the most traditional grounds in NSW and the Southern Districts Soccer Football Association, Nineveh Stadium situated in Sydney’s West has seen many memorable matches played by none other than the Fairfield Bulls SC.

The facility itself is certainly one of the finest that sticks out historically in the Southern Districts Soccer Football Association area equipped with a grass pitch as well as a terrace for its local fans who predominately hail from the Assyrian community.

Football has a beauty like no other sport that it connects with every nation and culture and this venue itself typifies just that.

The likes of players such as Tony Popovic, Marshall Soper, Joe Watson and Darren Iocca were just some of the notable players that hit the hallowed Nineveh turf throughout the years. You can also throw in former 1974 Socceroos coach and maestro Rale Rasic who managed the Bulls amongst other notable figures.

Founded in 1971 and formed by Assyrian immigrants, the club was also part of the Football NSW competitions setup where they won many titles during their time as well as winning promotion into the top tier Men’s competition in the 2002-2003 season by winning the NSW Super League the previous year.
