A new $300,000 futsal field in Henley Park, home to the Enfield Rovers playing out in the Canterbury & District Soccer Football Association has given the community yet another reason to visit this expansive green space in Enfield thanks to Burwood Council.

The 25m x 40m field near the corner of Mitchell and Portland Streets has already been discovered by locals who are keen to test their skills.

And the synthetic, all-weather surface means play can go ahead even when it’s wet.

The new field is just part of Burwood Council’s $2.6million investment in improvements to Henley Park which have included sports field lighting, drainage and turf and refurbished amenities.

Burwood Mayor Cr John Faker is delighted with the new field.

“This is a fantastic addition to the area for all ages and I’d encourage everyone to come and try it out,” he said.

“This is all about Council’s ongoing commitment to providing great spaces for the community to enjoy.”
