Round 4 Preview – NPL 3 NSW Men’s
Plenty of entertaining fixtures await us as we steamroll into round four of the 2020 NPL 3 Men’s competition.
Two rivals will go head to head on Saturday as Dulwich Hill FC play host to Stanmore Hawks FC at 7pm.
Dulwich Hill sit in 9th on the league ladder heading into this fixture with one win and two losses to their name while Stanmore occupy top of the table with three wins from the first three rounds.
The Hawks showed their class against newly promoted Central Coast United last time out, registering a 5-1 win while Dully fell to a 3-0 defeat against Bankstown City last Sunday.
Both clashes between these two sides last season ended in Stanmore victories with the Hawks winning 2-1 in their first meeting before backing that up with a 2-0 triumph.
Dunbar Rovers FC welcome Sydney University SFC to Heffron Park at 7pm on Saturday.
Dunbar are situated in 6th spot while Uni prop up the ladder heading into this fixture.
Rovers were on the wrong end of a 2-1 score line against Gladesville last round while the ‘students’ were trounced 7-0 by Bankstown United.
The eastern suburbs outfit won this fixture 3-2 at Hensley last season before Uni came out on top 1-0 in the reverse fixture in Camperdown.
Jensen Park will be the venue for the clash between Bankstown United FC and Inter Lions FC, with proceedings set to get underway from 7pm on Saturday.
These two sides had entirely different results last weekend; United triumphed 7-0 against Uni while Inter were put to the sword by the Berries, suffering a 5-0 defeat.
Bankstown occupy 5th spot on the table and will be looking to emulate last Saturday’s performance which saw five different names get on the score sheet.
United claimed a 1-0 win away to Inter in their first meeting at VSP last season while they could not be split in their second match-up at Jensen Park with 1-1 the full-time score.
High-flying Canterbury Bankstown FC make the trip to Lynwood Park on Saturday to face off against Macarthur Rams FC with kick off scheduled for 7pm.
The Rams have had a topsy-turvy start to their campaign and sit in mid-table with 11 goals scored and 12 conceded.
Canterbury Bankstown have had an inspired start to the rebooted season with two wins and one defeat from their first three matches.
These two sides played against each other prior to the league’s suspension with Macarthur registering a 4-1 victory.
These two teams are likely to produce plenty of goals with the Rams’ Mark Symington at the top of the scoring leader board with five to his name while Berries duo Andre Guzman and Andrija Mandic have three goals each.
Central Coast United FC return home to Pluim Park on Saturday as they prepare to go head to head against Gladesville Ryde Magic at 7pm.
The Pirates drew their first two fixtures against United and Dunbar respectively before they were dealt a harsh lesson away to the Hawks last weekend where they fell to a crushing 5-1 defeat.
Magic have also had a mixed start to their campaign and sit three places above their opponents in 8th position.
They come into this game on the back of a 2-1 win against Dunbar in which both Michael and Harris Gaitatzis got their names on the score sheet.
An entertaining battle is set to take place at Rydalmere Park at 7pm on Saturday as Rydalmere Lions FC battle it out against Bankstown City FC.
Rydalmere are sitting pretty in 2nd spot on the league table with a perfect record from their first three matches whilst Bankstown occupy 4th position – with two wins and one defeat.
Both teams are not shy in the goals department with seven each from them so far this season.
Rydalmere’s Matt West scored a brace last time out against Macarthur and has three in total this campaign while Bankstown pair Ante Tomic and Nikola Todoroski have two goals each.
