Football NSW is excited to announce that North West Sydney Football (NWSF) are relaunching their Walking Football program starting on Wednesday 14 October at Christie Park.
NWSF’s Competition Coordinator Nikki Riddle is eagerly anticipating the much talked about football concept after having such huge success in 2019.
“This year will be our third summer season that we have run our Walking Football activation at Christie Park and are thrilled to have seen the numbers grow since its inception a few seasons ago.
“We are confident the increase in numbers and popularity will continue as more and more people are eager to try this fantastic version of football.”
Football NSW’s Game Development Officer Trevor Huxley was equally as excited preparing for what will be a breakout season for Walking Football.
“Walking Football is something I truly believe in which offers a version of our world game to beginners and veterans alike.
“In what has been a tough year for all involved due to COVID-19, there’s no better way than getting back to doing what we all love and that is playing football.
“With restrictions slowly easing and Sydney’s weather turning it on for Spring and Summer, now’s an even better opportunity to get involved with Walking Football.
“This concept of our game offers participants with physical and mental health benefits, social contentedness and promotes the benefits of ongoing physical activity so do yourself a favour a get involved today.”
This project received grant funding from the Australian Government through Sport Australia
