Nick Levett joins 2020 Australian Coaching Conference
Football NSW are delighted to announce that Head of Coaching for UK Coaching Nick Levett will be presenting at the 2020 Australian Coaching Conference.
Nick’s role sees him support coaches from grassroots sport through to National level age group squads in professional, Olympic and Paralympic sports.
Nick has previously worked at the English Football Association for 14 years, leading national projects in a variety of areas from education to setting up the FA Skills Programme in 2007; a programme which focused on skill development for the 5-11 age group.
For six years Nick lead the revolutionising of grassroots football in England as National Development Manager before becoming FA Talent Identification Manager in 2015. This work focused on building a Talent ID education pathway to help professionalize the scouting industry, working with professional clubs to offer bespoke support for their coaches and scouts involved in the recruitment of players for their academies and supported the selection of players for England U15 to senior squads.
Whilst working at The FA, Nick spent six years coaching part-time in a Premier League Academy, working with players now playing in the Premier League, Bundesliga and Youth European/World Cup winners. Nick has his UEFA A’ Licence and FA Advanced Youth Award, along with a Masters Degree in Education and Creativity.
Nick strongly believes that the person has to be at the heart of the learning process, focusing on their long-term learning to develop better players and better people.
He’s now doing trying to do that with a group of Under 7 children.
Nick will be presenting at the 2020 Australian Coaching Conference on, “The Essential Skills Of An Effective Youth Coach” which will be a presentation for coaches of all levels from grassroots to elite football focusing on coaching behaviours and how to work effectively with youth players of all abilities.
“To have someone of Nick’s experience across all parts of the football world from Grassroots through to elite football is another great addition to this years conference.
“Coaches of all levels will gain valuable insights into coaching from Nick to then apply into their relevant coaching environment be it in an NPL youth or senior environment to a volunteer coach at a local association club,” said Football NSW’s Coach Development Manager Chris Adams.
With COVID-19 still impacting the ability to gather in large groups and for participants to travel, the 2020 Australian Coaching Conference has attracted many participants and already Northern NSW Football, Football West and Football Victoria have joined forces to promote the Conference to their coaches and broader membership.
The 2020 Australian Coaching Conference will be held online on Saturday 28 November, noting that registration will allow participants to access the content any time afterwards through a specially designed online platform.
