The quest for a round 5 FFA Cup Preliminary round spot continued overnight as the Bonnyrigg White Eagles, St George City and Unanderra Hearts all won their respective matches.

Peakhurst Park was the scene where NPL 2 NSW Men’s outfit St George City defeated NPL 3 NSW Men’s side Bankstown United 2-1. Goals to Troy Danaskos and Josh Keremelevski were enough to see the side through even though Mitch Edmunds gave the visitors a glimmer of hope scoring Bankstown’s only goal of the match.

At Blackman Park, Northern Suburbs FA side Lane Cove all but ended its Cup run falling 6-2 to NPL 2 NSW Men’s side Bonnyrigg White Eagles. Richie Darko bagged a brace while goals to Radovan Pavicevic, Kyle Johnson, Judah Cleur and Asmir Kadric gave Wayne O’Sullivan’s side the victory.

While finally at Valentine Sports Park in a match that was abandoned due to light failure last week in the first half of extra time, Football South Coast side Unanderra Hearts defeated Northern Suburbs outfit Forest Killarney FC scoring from the spot during extra time to send them through to the next stages of the Cup.

Three matches are set to close out Round 4 this evening (Wednesday 21st of April) with Lugarno FC taking on Enfield Rovers at Peakhurst Park (7pm), Mounties Wanderers face the Gladesville Ryde Magic at Cook Park (7:30pm) and Western Rage take on Sydney Olympic at Ray Marshall Reserve (7:30pm).
