Kemps Creek United set for Walking Football program
Football NSW is excited to announce that Kemps Creek United Soccer Club are launching their Walking Football program starting on Saturday 5th June at Bill Anderson Reserve.
Football NSW’s Club Development and Participation Coordinator Trevor Huxley was eagerly anticipating the much talked about football concept.
“Walking Football is something I truly believe in which offers a version of our world game to beginners and veterans alike.
“Walking Football is a fantastic initiative offering a social, small-sided & sustainable version of football, specifically modified for older Australians.
“Walking Football aims to provide participants with physical and mental health benefits, social contentedness and promotes the benefits of ongoing physical activity.”
Club President from Kemps Creek United Soccer Club Ross Maiorana wants the community to embrace walking football.
“I’m excited to be involved with launching walking football. We want to make football available to people of all abilities in our community and hope to attract participants from right across our Association, and beyond. We look forward to working with Southern Districts and Football NSW in making this a fun and social experience for all involved,” said Maiorana.
Southern Districts Soccer Football Association General Manager Phil Sampson is enthusiastic about growing the sport in the local Association.
“Creating opportunities for even greater inclusion is what makes this game so special. Southern Districts FA sees Walking Football as an ideal opportunity to expand the game further, making it even more accessible for almost anyone who just wants to get involved and enjoy our wonderful game. We’d like to see as many participants take the opportunity to get together and have some fun at the Come and Try Day, and the short 6-week program thereafter at Bill Anderson Reserve,” Sampson said.
