The FFA Cup fairytale has ended for courageous Southern Districts Football Association side Liverpool Olympic after bowing out of the Preliminary stages of the knockout Cup competition in a one-sided affair that NPL NSW Men’s giants Sydney Olympic record a 9-0 victory at Ernie Smith Reserve on Wednesday evening.

Ante Juric’s men wanted to get the game done and dusted early in order of avoiding any slip-ups and did just that with a business-like performance racing out to a five-goal lead before the break then adding a further four to complete the rout.

Goals to Benjamin Van Meurs, a brace from Marley Peterson and Michael Glassock and four goals from Japanese import Yu Hasegawa did the trick for the visitors.

The victory sets up an all NPL NSW Men’s affair as Olympic travel to Cromer Park to take on Manly United for spot in the National Round of 32 as well as a Waratah Cup Quarter-Final place on Wednesday 16th of June.
