Boronia Park, home to the Epping Eastwood Tigers, celebrated its own Females in Football over the long weekend after hosting a successful Inaugural Ladies Day.

The event saw players, mothers, wives, grandmothers, aunties, stepmothers, girlfriends and sisters spoilt with Devonshire teas as well as some extra goodies and a fantastic halftime show put on by their mini and junior young Tigers girls all of which were met with a standing ovation by the boisterous crowd on display.

With their scones, jam and cream, the women got a rare chance to get together, make new friends as well as sitting back and enjoying what was a great game of football as the Epping Eastwood Tigers Premier League Men’s side took on neighbouring Macquarie Dragons who also got behind the special day.

It’s scenes and moments such as these that make our beautiful game so great.

Well done to Epping Eastwood Tigers for doing their bit in driving female participation across all levels of our game as well as recognising the important role females play in the sport we all love.
