Both Bathurst and Central Coast were two regional cities that basked in Futsal fever as first-class action took shape at different periods of the year in yet another strong sign of the continual rise of the sport thanks to the participation rates both Championships experienced.

Prior to lockdown taking place across Greater Sydney, Niagara Park Sports Stadium played host to the 2021 Futsal Schools Championships as four age groups took part with the 14 and 16 Boys and Girls competitions. Unfortunately, the Open Boys and Girls competitions were cancelled due to the enforcement of restrictions from the NSW Government.

Nevertheless it was Narrabeen Sports High that kicked things off on the right foot clinching the 14 Boys category with a 2-1 win over Asquith Boys in the final. The 14 Girls witnessed Pymble Ladies College narrowly defeating Brisbane Waters Secondary College 3-2.

The 16’s category was up next and in an-all Narrabeen Sports High final, it was the A’s that defeated the B’s 2-1 in the Boys while the Pymble Ladies picked up their second trophy of the day defeating the Central Coast Sports College 2-1.

Bathurst Indoor Sports Stadium was next on the scene but some inclement weather played havoc with the Futsal Schools Championships at Bathurst.

The 14 Boys and Girls age groups went off without a hitch however the 16 Boys, Open Boys and Open Girls competitions were cancelled due to the significant rain downpour and snow that hit the surrounding regional areas restricting participants’ abilities to attend the day.

St Matthews Catholic College were the victors in the 14 Boys while Katoomba High took out the 14 Girls category prior to mother nature playing havoc on the remainder of the Championships.
