Football NSW is pleased to announce a special interview, presentation and Q&A session this Thursday evening (7:30pm) 12 August, with former Matildas and National Coach of the New Zealand Female Ferns, Mr Tom Sermanni.

Tom has just arrived back in Sydney from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and will be phoning in from a Sydney Hotel where he is serving his 14 days of quarantine.

The session will be hosted by well known football media personality, and voice of the Westfield W-League, Ms Stephanie Brantz.

The much admired coach will talk about the Olympics, what he thought of the various teams, what it was like playing in front of no crowds and who he thought were some of the Tournament’s better players.

Whilst Sermanni was the coach of New Zealand, he was a previous coach (on two occasions) of the Matildas and also back in 2014, he coached the US Women’s National Team.

Coincidentally all these former teams he managed formed part of his troops group at the Olympics alongside Sweden.

Sermanni was also the Assistant Coach of the Canadian side that won the Gold in Tokyo during the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Along with his World Cup chat, a conversation on the emerging trends across the world in the Women’s game leading into the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand will also be on the agenda.

The session will be aimed at coaches and technical staff involved in the women’s game, and those who want to hear from one of the most experienced coaches in women’s football.

It will commence at 7.30 pm and can be viewed by following the instructions below.
