Disappointing End for Schools Football

It came as no surprise as the NSW Combined High Schools Sports Association officially cancelled all its state knock-out competitions for 2021.

There was no alternative, schools have been locked down and most students have been undertaking lessons from home.

To organise school football teams to travel to different parts of the state to complete competitions was not feasible.

The positive to be taken from this year is that, unlike 2020, State Football Carnivals have taken place.

This has enabled the selection of NSW CHS teams, and these teams (19s Boys and 18s Girls) were able to participate in the All Schools Tournament in June this year.

The School Sport Australia National Championships for 2021 had been cancelled early in the year, and the All Schools Tournament resulted in the selection of “Select Teams”.
