Football Community to honour Micky Williams in Memorial Day

Mick-Williams

Manly United and the Manly Warringah Football Association will this Saturday honour one of the Northern Beaches and Newcastle Football Communities most popular personalities Micky Williams, who sadly passed away earlier this year with a Memorial Day at Cromer Park.

Micky was widely loved and respected following a long-playing stint with Manly United as well as connections he made through the local Manly Warringah Football Association community at Seaforth, CC Strikers and Pittwater.

Prior to his move to the Northern Beaches, Micky was as popular in Newcastle particularly at the Edgeworth Eagles.

His passing touched many people and sadly due to COVID, were unable to gather to pay respect to his memory.

Manly United and the local association have invited Micky’s friends and family from the Northern Beaches and Newcastle in a lovely gesture to remember his life and unite as one football family.

The day will start with a match between Manly United and the Edgeworth Eagles first grade sides on Cromer Park No.2 at 11am before continuing into the afternoon and evening at the Manly Warringah Football Club (Cromer Park Clubhouse) at 1pm.
