As many as sixteen (16) promising Macarthur Football Association (MFA) based coaches recently took part in Football Australia/AFC’s ‘C’ Licence course held at Camden Tigers’ Ron Dine Memorial Reserve.

The 7-day course that kicked-off in January saw Football Australia’s Nick D’Amore present while being supported by Troy Spink and Kevin Guardado Amaya.

All sixteen coaches saw this Course as an introduction to their Advanced Coaching journey.

“Providing more accessible opportunities for coach development has been identified as a key objective for the MFA, so having the FA Advanced ‘C’ Licence course running out of Ron Dine Memorial Reserve was a massive win for the association,” said Macarthur FA’s Community Football Manager Kevin Guardado Amaya.

“The MFA would like to thank all 16 participants for taking the next step on their coaching journey, Football NSW and Nick D’Amore for presenting the course and Camden Tigers FC for hosting the event at their home ground.

“We look forward to providing more opportunities like this on a yearly basis.”

The primary focus of the required coaching competency on the ‘C’ Licence was on the technical aspects of the game, which included teaching the techniques of passing, receiving, striking the ball, and running with the ball, along with defending techniques to regain possession.

The required technical knowledge was further supported with an understanding of The Principles of Play and the fundamentals of coaching.

Participants were also introduced to the concept of teaching behaviour in different types of practice methods as part of the education program and providing an insight into the ‘B’ Licence.
