How to Become a Referee

Our referee courses will get you underway in the ultimate part time job – why not give it a go?
There’s many reasons why you should take up the whistle.
Here’s a few:
- Earn money whilst staying active and being involved in football
- Get a better understanding of the game and rules
- Build your communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills

Football NSW’s Community Football Referees Coordinator Emma Kocbek, a qualified official with Football NSW and the A-League Women’s competition stated that 2022 is the year we will see more participants take up the whistle.
“Refereeing is the perfect chance to earn some money, stay fit and be involved with football. If you’re a player, coach or just love the game, refereeing could be for you.
“It’s the perfect part time job and with so many courses coming up online and in-person, now is the chance to get qualified ready for the start of the season.”
