FA Elite Matches set to kick off this Wednesday

Football NSW is proud to once again host the 2022 FA Elite Matches with the first one of the year taking place on Wednesday 23rd March at Valentine Sports Park.

In 2018, these matches helped unearth 9 new players for the squad of 23 who represented the Under 17 Joeys at the AFC Championships, and in 2021 a Matildas Elite Match led to several players being called into camps and eventually making debuts.

Players competing in the Boys and Girls youth leagues can be identified for Elite Matches playing for their respective club.

With the National Teams Unit consistently in attendance of the Talent Support Program (TSP) matches, this has proven to be an integral part of the identification process increasing a player’s chance to be selected.

The FA intend to hold the first of several national talent ID camps in April (this one for 2006 born boys).

Elite Matches taking place across the country will be a focal point of identifying, comparing and selecting players for this camp.

The Elite matches for both boys and girls align with plans for multiple capture points across more age groups, to give more talented players the chance to shine and be identified while they experience more high-level match minutes.

Football NSW would like to congratulate the following players on their selection for this FA Elite Match:
