Round 4 Preliminary Round Update: APIA and Sydney Olympic knocked out of Australia Cup

Two National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s clubs that for the past several seasons have taken part in the Round of 32 of the Australia Cup will not be doing so this year as both APIA Leichhardt and Sydney Olympic have been knocked out of the prestigious Cup competition following their round 4 Preliminary round results.

League One side St George City did the business as they defeated Sydney Olympic 4-2 on penalties after the match finished 1-1 last Thursday at Penshurst Park while last night at Blacktown City Sports Centre, Mark Crittenden’s men, thanks to a Jordan Smylie goal knocked out usual Cup giantkillers APIA 1-0.

There are still ten matches to be played to wrap up Round 4 of the Preliminary Rounds with the Round 5 Draw set be drawn on the 5th of May.
