Football NSW Celebrates Female Football Week
The stage is set as Football NSW kicks off its Female Football Week celebrations today by honouring and admiring our amazing coaches, referees, administrators, volunteers, clubs, and supporters all of which have played an integral role in the development of the women’s game.
A number of exciting events and promotional activities will be conducted across NSW as clubs from grassroots to our elite recognise the initiative Football NSW first pioneered in 2014 which has now become a nation-wide celebration of females in all aspects of football.
Football NSW’s Head of Women’s and Schools Football Hayley Todd was looking forward to the weekend’s festivities.
“Football NSW is thrilled to be celebrating Female Football Round during Female Football Week in what has been amazing 2022 season thus far.
“With the FIFA Women’s World Cup just over 12 months away and the recently announced 10-million-dollar NSW Football Legacy Fund investment in full swing, it’s never been a more exciting time for female football in Australia.
“This weekend’s football will showcase its finest female football stars on show as we head into Round Five of the NPL NSW Women’s and Round Twelve of the League One Women’s competitions
“On top of the sensational football display that we will no doubt witness, our game isn’t just about our talented players.
“We would like to highlight, respect, and acknowledge each and every female football Champion in the Football NSW family who continually strive to deliver better development opportunities for players, coaches, referees and volunteers along with administrators.
“It is amazing to see the new pathways that have been created for female coaches and referees in improving the standards of the game.
“Equally, we also want to pay homage to our hard-working volunteers who continuously work around the clock in ensuring our game continues to progress.
“Women play an important role in developing football and we thank you for your hard work and contribution as we celebrate the 2022 Female Football Round.”
