The 2022 Winter Futsal League has kicked off in tremendous fashion as the new competition has already showcased the quality and excitement that was designed to create a middle ground between grassroots and elite Futsal in NSW.

The competition has been ultra-competitive thus far as seven Men’s teams including Eastern Suburbs, Mountain Majik, Sydney Futsal, Mosaic Sports Club, Maccabi Futsal, Sydney Knights and the Sydney Street Crew have been battling it out each and every Friday and Sunday’s at Valentine Sports Park for spot in the finals in August.

“It’s been a great start to this year’s Winter Futsal League competition and it will only get bigger and better in 2023 and beyond,” said Football NSW Futsal Manager Jordan Guerreiro.

“It’s been great to see Futsal players from grassroots right through to elite compete against each other in a proper competition on a weekly basis.

“This initiative has also opened opportunities for clubs to get involved and improving their engagement with its players and members something that will only further strengthen the Futsal community.”

After four rounds its Mountain Majik who lead the competition having won four from four matches and look like the heavy favourites to clinch the silverware in August.

On a players front, both Adam Strasser and Brett Roseburg from Maccabi Futsal have been hot on the scorer’s charts sharing top spot of the current Golden Boot tally with nine goals each.
