Ambitious Granville District Soccer Football Association club Holroyd Rangers has thrown its support in promoting and acknowledging NAIDOC Week via special commemorative Indigenous playing kits that have been designed for their matches this weekend.

Although wet weather will most certainly ruin their chances of playing in them this weekend, Club President Danny Rizk stated that the strips will still be used for forthcoming matches.

“We are very proud in supporting such an important week on the Australian calendar.

“We have produced a dedicated Indigenous jersey that we plan on using for games during NAIDOC week and even a dedicated Indigenous custom Deploy balls that we will also use for games.

“Understandably the rain has come at the wrong time, we will use these strips in matches coming up.

“We hope this helps inspire other clubs in the future to also embrace NAIDOC week as much as we have done.”
