It was a year to remember for the Mountain Majik Futsal Club who were the talk of the town following their convincing 8-2 victory over a gallant Sydney Knights Futsal Club in the inaugural 2022 Winter Futsal League Final that took place on Sunday at Valentine Sports Park.

Sydney Knights Futsal Club were however the talk of the league having qualified for the big dance after finishing fifth and looked as though they’d put on a show in the final after they defeated and upset Premiers Eastern Suburbs Hakoah Futsal Club in the semis on penalties.

It was a memorable run by the club but they were met with some force as the Mountain Majik, an established Futsal Premier League, club proved a mountain too hard to climb for the Knights.

After finishing in second spot in the normal season, the Majik were made to work for a finals spot defeating the Sydney Futsal Club 9-6 in extra time.

With well over 100 spectators at Valentine Sports Park to witness the final, it was the Majik that flexed their muscles coming up trumps with a 8-2 win.

A hat-trick to Robson De Souza and Jordan Guerreiro while a brace from Adam Nisbet cancelled out goals from Mervan Cakal and Sahand Mehrkhavari to gift the Majik the 2022 Championship.

Following the final, it was both De Souza and Guerreiro that were crowned Golden Boot winners scoring 14 goals a-piece while Sydney Knights’ Majid Eslami was the king of the league taking out the MVP award.

Football NSW would like to thank the NSWFRA for providing their professional referee services in what was a memorable Winter Futsal League season as well as congratulating all the teams, players, coaches and administrators for throwing their support behind this concept.
