Mixed results on Day 2 at the Girls National Youth Championships

It was a day of mixed results for our NSW Metro and Country Under 14 and Under 16’s sides in Day 2 of the National Youth Championships for Girls held at Coffs Harbour.
Under 14 NSW Metro
It was a good day for the Under 14 NSW Metro Girls squad who recorded a 3-1 victory over Queensland.
This victory maintained coach Matias Martinez’ 100% record following his side’s opening two victories on Day 1.
Under 14 Country NSW
It was a tough day for the Under 14 Country NSW girls who went down in a thriller 3-2 against Western Australia.
Goals from Allyana Levy and Lily Heckenberg weren’t enough to see off their opponents as the side looks towards getting back to the winner’s circle in Day 3.
Under 16 NSW Metro
It was a victory and a draw for our Under 16 NSW Metro side that finished off their Day 2 journey in the prestigious tournament.
The Girls defeated Northern NSW 3-2 in a cliff-hanger of a match thanks to goals from Alvina Khoshaba, Sienna Dale and Caley Tallon-Henniker while their other match finished in a 1-1 draw against the Victoria Blue side.
Under 16 Country NSW
A victory and a draw were also the order of play for the Under 16 Country NSW side as Day 2 drew to a close.
Poppy Channing and Kate Drinkwalter were the heroes in Country’s 2-1 win over Western Australia while a brace from Isabelle Harris secured her side a point in their 2-2 draw against Victoria White.
