The long weekend brings a glut of Futsal Premier League 2 Open Womens action to indulge in across the three days. All eight teams will be keen to try and take maximum points in their fixtures and move their way up the ladder. Let’s get onto the preview.

Round 3

SD Raiders Futsal vs Phoenix Futsal Club, Saturday 1 October, 3:10pm, Fairfield Youth & Community Centre

We start the long weekend of action with SD Raiders Futsal playing against Phoenix Futsal Club in Fairfield on Saturday afternoon.

SD Raiders Futsal were unable to register their first win against Sydney City Eagles on Friday night in their 5-3 defeat. They have shown fight in both games and the win will be around the corner for the hosts.

The visitors broke through with three points in the 3-2 Match of the Round win against the Crusaders on Saturday afternoon. Kate Mateffy was great in their win and scored a good finesse finish and aim for another on the weekend.

Sydney City Eagles vs Boomerangs FS, Saturday 1 October, 3:20pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

Boomerangs make the trip up to Thomas Hassell Anglican College to take on Sydney City Eagles on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles swooped for their first win in a 5-3 success against SD Raiders Futsal. They had their full squad to choose from and they will need them against a Boomerangs side which was in full flow last weekend.

It was the ideal start to the season for Boomerangs FS in their 7-0 win against Sydney Futsal Club last weekend and they will hope to repeat the dose. Natalie De Marco marked her return with a goal and keen to add to her tally in the west.

West City Crusaders vs Raiders Futsal Club, Saturday 1 October, 3:50pm, Hawkesbury PCYC

West City Crusaders have their first home game when they face off against Raiders Futsal Club at PCYC Hawkesbury on Saturday afternoon.

The Crusaders will look to build on their close loss to Phoenix Futsal Club in their first outing last weekend when they face Raiders Futsal. Holly Williams scored a brace but was shown a red late in the contest and might miss the clash.

For Raiders Futsal Club, they will want to rebound well after their loss against South Coast Taipans 6-3 at home. Savannah Seixas scored in her first game back for Raiders Futsal Club and keen for further goals in Hawkesbury.

Sydney Futsal Club vs South Coast Taipans, Saturday 1 October, 4:10pm, NC of Indigenous Excellence

Super Saturday of FPL2 action ends with Sydney Futsal Club hosting South Coast Taipans at NC of Indigenous Excellence in the afternoon.

Sydney Futsal Club might relish being back on the court after their disappointing 7-0 loss to Boomerangs FS down in Canberra. They have two games at home this weekend and can use it as a good platform to spring from.

The Taipans have started the season with back-to-back wins and look to finish off their away trips to start the year on a high. Coach Bobby Mazevski was happy with their control last weekend against Raiders Futsal Club and will want similar.

Round 4

Sydney Futsal Club vs SD Raiders Futsal, Sunday 2 October, 3:45pm, NC of Indigenous Excellence

Starting off Round 4, Sydney Futsal Club look to rebound when they take on SD Raiders Futsal at NC of Indigenous Excellence on Sunday afternoon.

Sydney Futsal Club are at home for both games this long weekend and with one win under their belt will be ready to add their account. Annalise Schiraldi and Mya Callil might be key contributors to getting them over the line.

SD Raiders Futsal haven’t won in the first fortnight but have been impressive in small segments of each game thus far. Sarah Mandile has scored in both games and aim to make it three in a row down in Redfern.

Raiders Futsal Club vs Boomerangs FS, Sunday 2 October, 3:50pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

Raiders Futsal Club face off against Boomerangs FS in an interesting game at Thomas Hassell Anglican College on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts have a small squad, but it is filled to the brim with talented players who will always be in the contest. Nicole Ossio worked the combinations well on the pitch and scored in both games thus far for Raiders Futsal Club.

Boomerangs FS shared the scoring around in their season opener. Rachael Corbett and Alex McKenzie scored braces in the win and the two will aim to repeat that feat against Raiders Futsal Club in an intriguing contest.

South Coast Taipans vs West City Crusaders, Monday 3 October, 3:50pm, UOW Sports Hub

Free scoring South Coast Taipans welcome West City Crusaders to UOW Sports Hub for a big game on Monday afternoon.

Back on their home pitch, Taipans will hope to make this long weekend a crucial one in their fight for the top four. Christina Videla was in fine form last week with a double and the Taipans attack is ready to sting the opposition this weekend.

The Crusaders showed they are solid team last week and can create chances this weekend. Holly Pender was in fine form last weekend and will carry that form into this contest. If she can Neil Ross’ side can pick up three points.

Sydney City Eagles vs Phoenix Futsal Club, Monday 3 October, 4:10pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

We finish off the weekend with Sydney City Eagles take on Phoenix Futsal Club at Thomas Hassell Anglican College.

Sydney City Eagles will be full of confidence after their win and ready to this long weekend a successful one with a pair of home games. Hannah and Emma Voloder will be key to their performance and finding the back of the net.

The visitors come in full of confidence after last week and put together a great team performance in Dural. Molly Reckless and Tess Morabito were both impressive in the 3-2 win and keen to repeat that dose on Monday afternoon.
