Round 3 & 4 Preview – Futsal Premier League Open Women’s

With a double dose of Open Women’s Futsal Premier League action this weekend, there is plenty to be excited about in rounds three and four of the competition.
So who will take the early ascendency by the time we next preview a weekend, get to a match to find out!
Campbelltown City Quake Futsal Club
Weekend fixtures: Eastern Suburbs Hakoah Futsal Club (A), Dural Warriors (A)
Having started their season last weekend, Campbelltown City Quake will play their second and third games of the season this weekend. In their season opener, they played out a scoreless draw with Inner West. Singled out in thar performance were Chantelle Maniti, India Breier and Libby Morris who all impressed their coach, Mel Keith.
Dural Warriors
Weekend Fixtures: Mascot Vipers (H), Campbelltown City Quake (H)
One of two sides who showed significant improvement in their second outing, Dural Warriors are one of two sides sitting top of the league after two rounds. And the victory came without three missing players who were missing in their game against Enfield. But with those players missing came opportunity with four U17’s players getting good minutes.
Eastern Suburbs Hakoah Futsal Club
Weekend Fixture: Campbelltown City Quake (H)
One game, one win for Eastern Suburbs Hakoah has them sitting in a good position after two rounds of the competition but with a lot of teams having played twice the number of games by this weekend, they will be keen to ensure they keep pace with the rest. To do so however they face a difficult task in Campbelltown City Quake, a match which promises a lot.
Enfield Allstars
Weekend Fixture: Inner West (A)
After their first game didn’t go to plan, Enfield Allstars will be looking to bounce back when they take on Inner West this Saturday. It was a tough ask against Dural Warriors who were much improved on their round one outing. Still, with thirteen games to play, there’s bound to be improvement in this side, look out for Kaitlin Kiparizov who opened their goalscoring account last weekend.
Inner West Futsal Club
Weekend Fixtures: Enfield Allstars (H), UTS Northside (H)
Two draws is perhaps not a fair reflection on where Inner West are at after two rounds of their season. Impressing in both their opening games, last weekend we saw them share points with Campbelltown City Quake on the road. In that, Madison McComasky and Chloe Gordan were the standouts on the pitch. You’ll be brave to tip against them not picking up their first win this weekend.
Mascot Vipers
Weekend Fixtures: Dural Warriors (A), Mountain Majik (A)
It’s safe to say Mascot Vipers will be itching to hit the pitch in round three of the competition after a forgettable season opener last weekend. UTS Northside was always going to be a tough ask in their first game and despite goals to Riley Welsh and Emily Brewster, they couldn’t go with them. Dural will be a tough ask but they will be eyeing their match with the Majik as a chance to open their account.
Mountain Majik
Weekend Fixtures: UTS Northside (A), Mascot Vipers (H)
Without a win in their opening two matches, it’s crucial that Mountain Majik kickstart their season this weekend. With both their games having over seven goals, the Majik are definitely a team to watch heading into the long weekend. Last weekend, Amelia Feeney made an instant impact in her first game of the season while Clare Holder also found the net so they’re players to watch out for.
UTS Northside
Weekend Fixtures: Mountain Majik (H), Inner West (A)
What a start to the season it has been for UTS Northside! Sitting equal top of the competition in both Open categories, the Women laid down a marker last weekend scoring seven goals in a memorable win over Mascot Vipers. Caitlin Jarvie was the talking point with a hat-trick though they were impressive all round. Their game v Inner West stands out this weekend.
