Football NSW has announced its two teams (Metro and Regional) set to compete at the upcoming National Talent Challenge for the Under 18 Girls at the AIS in Canberra kicking off on the 3rd of October and concluding on the 7th at the AIS.

The National Talent Challenge (NTC) offers Under 18 Girls the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of Football Australia and Australian National Team selectors.

The NSW Regional Team is a combination of players from both Football NSW’s regional areas and Northern NSW and is part of the overall Regional Female Development Program which is assisted by funding by the NSW Government.

“This is an exciting opportunity for both regional players from NSW and the Northern NSW area to be able to field a team for the first time at the NTC,” said Regional Development Manager Andrew Fearnley.

“We look forward to showcasing the NSW regional players at such an important talent identification event.”

Football NSW’s Player Development Manager for Girls Nadine Shiels echoed Fearnley’s sentiments.

“The NTC provides selectors with a fantastic opportunity to identify future Matildas talent and we are hoping that our girls from both Metro and Regional do their part in continuing on with the player development pathway representing the Green and Gold.”
