After the whirlwind fixture list of last week, we’re back to normal this weekend in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Mens competition. There are four wonderful games to enjoy as the teams continue to jostle for positions in the top four. Let’s get onto preview.

SD Raiders Futsal vs West City Crusaders, Saturday 8 October, 4:10pm, Fairfield Youth and Community Centre

Leaders SD Raiders Futsal welcome West City Crusaders to Fairfield Youth and Community Centre on Saturday afternoon for an intriguing game.

SD Raiders Futsal are top of the tree in the FPL2 Open Mens competition and have scored for fun in the first month of the season. They have plundered 19 goals thus far and Simon Nicholas has been heavily involved and will look for more this week.

The Crusaders endured a tough long weekend but will look to get back in the winner’s circle against the leaders. Greg Kondek is one of the main threats for the side and will look to add to his three goals thus far for the 2022 campaign.

Boomerangs FS vs South Coast Taipans, Saturday 8 October, 4:50pm, MPowerdome

Boomerangs FS head back to the MPowerdome to take on South Coast Taipans in an important game on Saturday afternoon.

It was a mixed weekend for Boomerangs FS with a draw and a loss but they showed plenty of fight in their game against Raiders Futsal Club. Elie Darwich was a standout for them in that game with his brace and look to repeat that performance at home.

The Taipans broke their duck at home in an 8-4 win on Monday afternoon, now look to maintain that standard in the trip to Canberra. Matthew Mazevski and Cody Waller have been consistent performers for the Taipans and will be a thorn in the side of the hosts.

Sydney City Eagles vs Sydney Futsal Club, Saturday 8 October, 5:10pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

High flying Sydney City Eagles look to soar further when they face off against Sydney Futsal Club at Thomas Hassell Anglican College on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles are sat in second spot after the first month and ready to continue their strong start with another home fixture. Peter Pelekanos was one of their strong performers last weekend with a handful of goals and be one to watch on Saturday.

For the visitors, they showed fantastic skill in their win on Saturday afternoon and much of that was down to the performance of Michael Candy who fired home a hat-trick. He added a further goal in their Sunday game so is in fine form for this fixture.

Phoenix Futsal Club vs Raiders Futsal Club, Saturday 8 October, 6:10pm, The Centre – Dural

We finish off the round with Phoenix Futsal Club hosting Raiders Futsal Club in a vital clash at The Centre – Dural on Saturday night.

Phoenix Futsal Club will aim to break their duck back at their home ground on Saturday afternoon against top four Raiders Futsal Club. Matthew Luttringer opened his account for the season on Monday afternoon and look to do similar this weekend.

It wasn’t the perfect week for Raiders Futsal but four points is nothing to sneeze at for a side that sits inside the top four. Christopher Godoy-Bascur and Tomas Medimurac were in fine form and will be tough to hold off the scoresheet again.
