Round 5 in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Womens competition is another exciting installment ready to go on Saturday afternoon. There are four clashes to enjoy including a top of the table clash between Boomerangs FS and South Coast Taipans. Let’s get onto the preview.

SD Raiders Futsal vs West City Crusaders, Saturday 8 October, 3:10pm, Fairfield Youth and Community Centre

We kick off the weekend at Fairfield Youth and Community Centre where SD Raiders Futsal take on West City Crusaders on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts come into this game off their first win of the FPL2 season and hungry for more success back at their home ground. Jessica Neville scored a wonderful goal and her work alongside Sarah Mandile will be key for SD Raiders Futsal.

West City Crusaders shocked the previously unbeaten Taipans on a six-point weekend so they head out to Fairfield full of confidence. Holly Pender, Holly Williams and Tia Berg make a fantastic trio to find the back of the net and will be a tough task to stop.

Boomerangs FS vs South Coast Taipans, Saturday 8 October, 3:50pm, MPowerdome

The top two sides clash when South Coast Taipans head down the highway to MPowerdome to take on Boomerangs FS on Saturday afternoon.

This is a mouthwatering clash between unbeaten Boomerangs FS and South Coast Taipans who suffered their first loss against West City Crusaders. Boomerangs FS have found the back of the net 18 times thus far and are a clinical outfit led by coach Kristian Collins.

South Coast Taipans were stung by their loss to Crusaders and Bobby Mazevski will have the side ready to go and hopefully upset the apple cart against the leaders. Lulu Lozano has been a bright performer in the first month of the season for the visitors.

Sydney City Eagles vs Sydney Futsal Club, Saturday 8 October, 4:10pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

Fresh from a win, Sydney City Eagles take on Sydney Futsal Club at Thomas Hassell Anglican College on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles showed they have plenty of talent around the club in their 3-3 draw against Phoenix Futsal Club. A pair of youth players in Alessia Perre and Christa Olivia were on the scoresheet and the side will want to build off that on their home pitch.

Sydney Futsal Club sit fourth after the first month which they bookended with wins and now look to use it for a platform to leap from. Both Jess Talbot and Chaeli De Brincat were good performers in those games and will want to repeat that on Saturday.

Phoenix Futsal Club vs Raiders Futsal Club, Saturday 8 October, 5:10pm, The Centre – Dural

Phoenix Futsal Club welcome Raiders Futsal Club to The Centre – Dural for an interesting game on Saturday night.

Looking to build on their draw last week, Phoenix Futsal Club want to soar up the FPL2 Open Womens ladder with three points. They have a solid core of the squad with Kate Mateffy and Molly Reckless being standout performers thus far.

Raiders Futsal Club will be looking to get back in the winner’s circle after back-to-back losses on the long weekend to Boomerangs FS and West City Crusaders. Savannah Seixas scored their goal against Boomerangs and will be a key player again.
