Round 6 in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Men’s sets up to be another exciting weekend of futsal action as the eight teams continue to fight for spots in the top four. All four games shape up to be good contests so let’s get onto the preview!

West City Crusaders vs Sydney City Eagles, Saturday 15 October, 4:50pm, PCYC Hawkesbury

Second place Sydney City Eagles head to PCYC Hawkesbury in a game against West City Crusaders on Saturday afternoon.

The Crusaders will look to get back in the winner’s column after their Match of the Round loss to SD Raiders Futsal last weekend. Ryan Faulkner and Greg Kondek were in standouts despite the result and will lead the side around on Saturday.

Sydney City Eagles are flying high and aim to build on their three game winning streak when they travel across town on Saturday afternoon. Peter Pelekanos has been in fine form and add to his five goals for the season.

Boomerangs FS vs SD Raiders Futsal, Saturday 15 October, 4:50pm, MPowerdome

Looking to remain unbeaten SD Raiders Futsal head to the MPowerdome to take on Boomerangs FS on Saturday afternoon.

Another slow start cost Boomerangs FS in their 3-1 defeat to South Coast Taipans and they will look to rebound in style against the league leaders. Coach Nick Van Aalst will rally his side and try and move them closer to the top four.

SD Raiders Futsal have the momentum of a runaway train currently after they demolished West City Crusaders 8-3 in their fifth straight win. Sebastian Malfara is leading from the front with a hat-trick and he will look to add to his tally in the capital.

Raiders Futsal Club vs Sydney Futsal Club, Saturday 15 October, 4:50pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

Raiders Futsal Club welcome Sydney Futsal Club to Thomas Hassell Anglican College for an important game on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts have had back-to-back draws which leaves them in third spot on the FPL2 Open Men’s ladder and Saturday is an opportunity to add to their total. Christopher Godoy-Bascur has been in good form with four goals in his last three games and is a key weapon for them.

Sydney Futsal Club are looking to get back on the horse after their 5-3 loss to Sydney City Eagles last weekend. Michael Candy has been a standout for them in the first month of the season with five goals thus far and could make it a long day for the Raiders defence.

South Coast Taipans vs Phoenix Futsal Club, Saturday 15 October, 7:40pm, UOW Sports Hub

Finishing off the weekend on Saturday night is South Coast Taipans facing off against Phoenix Futsal Club at UOW Sports Hub.

The Taipans have found the sting in their tail recently with back-to-back wins which included a 3-1 win over Boomerangs FS down in Canberra. Kyle Del and Cody Waller both starred in that win with goals and look to have a similar performance against Phoenix.

Phoenix Futsal Club got their first points for the FPL2 Open Men’s competition in a wild 4-4 draw against Raiders Futsal Club last Saturday afternoon. Jordan Smylie has been immense for them with a hat-trick again last week and will need to be kept in check.
