The Futsal Premier League 2 heads into Round 6 with another big Saturday of futsal action with the ladder so tightly packed in the chase for the top four spots. We have four exciting fixtures to enjoy so let’s get onto the preview!

West City Crusaders vs Sydney City Eagles, Saturday 15 October, 3:50pm, PCYC Hawkesbury

A top four clash kicks off the weekend between West City Crusaders and Sydney City Eagles at PCYC Hawkesbury on Saturday afternoon.

Whilst it wasn’t a win for the Crusaders against SD Raiders in their 6-5 game last weekend, the fight they showed will put them in good stead for their home game. Holly Williams is the leading scorer for the side and is deadly from the set piece so will be a danger.

Sydney City Eagles have picked up four points in their last two games and will be a tough out for any team they come up against. The Eagles have shown they share the goals around and might soar further up the ladder on Saturday afternoon.

Boomerangs FS vs SD Raiders Futsal, Saturday 15 October, 3:50pm, MPowerdome

Leaders Boomerangs FS take on SD Raiders Futsal at MPowerdome in an exciting game on Saturday afternoon.

Boomerangs FS are the only unbeaten side left in the FPL2 Open Women’s competition despite their draw against South Coast Taipans. Stella De Marco has scored three goals in her last two games and has been a vital part of a strong Boomerangs attack.

For SD Raiders Futsal, they were involved in a pulsating 6-5 win over West City Crusaders in the Match of the Round last week and will be confident headed down the highway. Ellie-Leigh Lontis fired home a hat-trick and her combination with Jessica Neville will be key.

Raiders Futsal Club vs Sydney Futsal Club, Saturday 15 October, 3:50pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

Raiders Futsal Club and Sydney Futsal Club come together at Thomas Hassell Anglican College for an important game on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts hope to build on their 3-2 win against Phoenix Futsal Club last weekend and launch themselves into the top four. Nicole Ossio has been a consistent performer for Raiders Futsal Club and will be key to their chances on the weekend.

Sydney Futsal Club have shown they can thrive with their two wins thus far in 2022 and will look to add a third when they travel to south-west Sydney. They will look to Chaeli De Brincat and Isabella Hopkins to drive them forward.

South Coast Taipans vs Phoenix Futsal Club, Saturday 15 October, 6:40pm, UOW Sports Hub

Rounding off the weekend is South Coast Taipans welcoming Phoenix Futsal Club to UOW Sports Hub on Saturday night.

The Taipans remain at the top of the tree after their 3-3 draw against the undefeated Boomerangs FS side in a game where they could’ve toppled them. Megan Grew has been a consistent performer for the home side and look for more goals.

Phoenix Futsal Club might sit at the bottom of the FPL2 Open Women’s ladder but they are within striking distance of the top four teams. Molly Reckless had a brace last week and aim to find the back of the net again.
