We have gone past the halfway mark in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Women’s competition and now is the time for teams to make their run into the top four. We kick off this second half of the season with four fantastic games to enjoy. Let’s get onto the preview!

Boomerangs FS vs West City Crusaders, Saturday 29 October, 3:50pm, MPowerdome

Leaders Boomerangs FS welcome West City Crusaders to the MPowerdome for an interesting clash on Saturday afternoon.

This game is the rescheduled Round 1 game which sees Boomerangs FS look to continue their ominous form which has them near the top of the FPL2 Open Women’s competition. Coach Kristian Collins will want the side to maintain their form and add another win.

West City Crusaders finally shrugged off their run of one-goal losses in a 4-3 win against Sydney Futsal Club and head down the highway full of confidence. Holly Pender and Isabella Williams have been constant performers and will be key to the win.

Raiders Futsal Club vs SD Raiders Futsal, Saturday 29 October, 3:50pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

Fourth place Raiders Futsal Club face off against sixth place SD Raiders Futsal in an important game at Thomas Hassell Anglican College on Saturday.

The hosts lead twice but were forced to share the points in a 2-2 draw against Sydney City Eagles in the Match of the Round. Nicole Ossio scored both goals and is the main link in the Raiders Futsal Club attack going forward.

SD Raiders Futsal took one of the top sides in the FPL2 Open Women’s down to the wire in their 2-2 draw against South Coast Taipans. Ashlie Crofts marked her first start with a hat-trick and will want a repeat performance away from home.

Phoenix Futsal Club vs Sydney Futsal Club, Saturday 29 October, 4:20pm, The Centre – Dural

Phoenix Futsal Club look to get back on track against fellow strugglers Sydney Futsal Club at The Centre – Dural on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts have one win on the season but will earmark this as a potential game to double their total for the season. Emma Ingerson found the back of the net in their loss last week and will hope to do the same in a win this week.

Sydney Futsal Club take a three-game losing streak into this game but showed some heart in their 4-3 loss to West City Crusaders last weekend. Mya Callil is an energetic player and will hope to lead the visitors to three points.

South Coast Taipans vs Sydney City Eagles, Saturday 29 October, 6:40pm, Illawarra Hockey Centre

South Coast Taipans take on a surging Sydney City Eagles side down at Illawarra Hockey Centre on Saturday night.

The Taipans dropped points in their pulsating 4-4 draw against SD Raiders Futsal but remain firmly in the top two of the FPL2 Open Women’s competition. Coach Bobby Mazevski will want the side to bounce back and keep some distance to third spot.

For Sydney City Eagles, they showed tremendous spirit in their 2-2 draw away at Raiders Futsal Club. There were some superb saves from custodian Isabella Sollecito which kept them in the contest and she will be keen for another solid performance in the gong.
