Round 9 in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Men’s competition is another huge weekend of futsal action where teams continue to jostle for spots in the top four. We have four wonderful games to enjoy with the promise of plenty of action. Let’s get onto the preview!

Sydney Futsal Club vs Boomerangs FS, Saturday 5 November, 4:45pm, NC of Indigenous Excellence

Sydney Futsal Club welcome Boomerangs FS to the NC of Indigenous Excellence for an important game on Saturday afternoon.

Boomerangs FS take a three-game winning streak to this game and have started to hit their groove in their chase for the top four. Elie Darwich has been a consistent performer for the Canberra side and will want to repeat his brace from last weekend.

For Sydney Futsal Club, they anchor the FPL2 Open Men’s competition and need to put together some results if they want to make the top four. They will rely on the experience of Michael Candy and Dion Kellis to help them towards that goal.

West City Crusaders vs Phoenix Futsal Club, Saturday 5 November, 4:45pm, Hawkesbury PCYC

An intriguing game unfolds at PCYC Hawkesbury between West City Crusaders and Phoenix Futsal Club on Saturday afternoon.

The Crusaders were on the wrong side of a wild 8-5 result against Boomerangs FS and hope to turn that form around against a side where they have picked up one of their two wins this season. Ryan Faulkner and Alexander Murrell will play central roles to taking the points again.

Phoenix Futsal Club rose to the occasion with their second win of the FPL2 Open Men’s season in their 3-1 win against Sydney Futsal Club. Jordan Smylie remains the main pivot with the side as he just plunders goals for fun.

Sydney City Eagles vs SD Raiders Futsal, Saturday 5 November, 5:10pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

We have a top of the table clash between Sydney City Eagles and SD Raiders Futsal at Thomas Hassell Anglican College on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles suffered a close 2-1 loss to South Coast Taipans down in Wollongong but still maintained their spot in the top two. Sydney City Eagles have such a strong bond, they will look to use that to their advantage to take down SD Raiders Futsal.

SD Raiders Futsal are also coming off a loss last weekend, losing 6-4 to Raiders Futsal Club at Thomas Hassell which they head back to this weekend. The form of Jordan Figon recently has boosted the side and he will be keen after his hat-trick last week.

South Coast Taipans vs Raiders Futsal Club, 6:50pm, Illawarra Hockey Centre

Round off the weekend with South Coast Taipans facing off against Raiders Futsal Club at Illawarra Hockey Centre on Saturday night.

South Coast Taipans head into this game off a high, after their dramatic 2-1 win against Sydney City Eagles and have been one of the form teams. Kyle Del got the winner and his combination with the other Taipans attackers will be crucial.
