We have a full slate of action in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Women’s competition this weekend and it promises to deliver plenty of goals and drama. The teams will continue to jostle for spots in the top four as we head into the final bend. Let’s get onto the preview!

Boomerangs FS vs Sydney City Eagles, Saturday 12 November, 3:10pm, MPowerdome

First takes on third when Boomerangs FS welcome Sydney City Eagles to the MPowerdome on Saturday afternoon.

Leaders Boomerangs FS continue to steamroll through the FPL2 Open Women’s competition with their double-digit win in Redfern last weekend. While their attack gets the plaudits, only conceding six goals through nine weeks is a massive achievement for the side and makes them an even tougher prospect.

Sydney City Eagles flies into this game off a comeback 4-3 win over SD Raiders Futsal and sat in third spot on the ladder. The side has shown good spirit in recent weeks and will be keen to challenge themselves against Boomerangs FS.

Phoenix Futsal Club vs SD Raiders Futsal, Saturday 12 November, The Centre – Dural

Two sides keen to get back in the winner’s circle clash when Phoenix Futsal Club host SD Raiders Futsal on Saturday afternoon.

Phoenix Futsal Club battled hard but were beaten 6-2 by West City Crusaders in their seventh loss of the 2022 campaign. They will look to improve on their Round 3 loss to where they lost 1-0 and move themselves closer to getting off the bottom.

For SD Raiders Futsal, they were in control of the game in the first half against the Eagles but fell away so they will work on a full 50 effort. Ellie-Leigh Lontis has been a good performer for the team and try to build on her four goals this season and lead the team to a win.

South Coast Taipans vs Sydney Futsal Club, Saturday 12 November, 4:40pm, UOW Sports Hub

South Coast Taipans take on Sydney Futsal Club in an important game at UOW Sports Hub on Saturday afternoon.

The Taipans remain one of the top sides in the competition after their 6-1 success over Raiders Futsal Club and look to maintain their strong form at home on Saturday. Lulu Lozano is a constant feature on the scoresheet for the Taipans and will be a key weapon in the game.

Sydney Futsal Club were swept away by leaders Boomerangs FS 10-0 in their last game and look to bounce back against the second-place side. Annalise Schiraldi had a good game last time these two met and look to lead the side to a positive result.

Raiders Futsal Club vs West City Crusaders, Saturday 12 November, 4:40pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

Our last game sees Raiders Futsal Club host West City Crusaders at Thomas Hassell Anglican College on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts look to bounce back after their 6-1 loss to South Coast Taipans down away from home with a home fixture. Gemma Morgan and Olivia Burke have been two of their best performers this season and hope that might lead to a win.

West City Crusaders head across town after a big 6-2 win which has nestled into fourth spot on the FPL2 Open Women’s ladder. Holly Pender fired home a hat-trick and her combination with Holly Williams will take them a long way to the result.
