Round 14 in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Womens competition brings down the curtain on the regular season before we crown a champion. There is still something to enjoy in the four clashes to play out on Saturday so let’s get onto the preview.

Raiders Futsal Club vs Sydney City Eagles, Saturday 10 December, 3:50pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

Third takes on fourth in an important game between Raiders Futsal Club and Sydney City Eagles at Thomas Hassell Anglican College on Saturday.

A win for Raiders Futsal Club at home on Saturday will secure finals football for the squad who has been one of the consistent sides in the FPL2 Open Womens competition. Gemma Morgan had a pair of goals last week and look to deliver a similar result in this game.

Sydney City Eagles had their wings clipped in a tight 2-1 loss against West City Crusaders in a game where the Eagles led for much of the contest. Melina Manna has appeared in all 13 games for the Eagles this year and aim to help the team to three points.

Both sides will be playing for the Nicholas Hoenselaars Cup to honour Nicholas Hoenselaars who was a wonderful player for both teams.

West City Crusaders vs Sydney Futsal Club, Saturday 10 December, 3:50pm, PCYC Hawkesbury

Both West City Crusaders and Sydney Futsal Club look to end on a high when they clash at PCYC Hawkesbury on Saturday afternoon.

West City Crusaders have a faint chance to make the top four if they win their game and there is a loss for Raiders Futsal Club. They will hope to build on their 2-1 win over the Eagles and finish the regular season with three games unbeaten.

The visitors will be looking to finish the season with three points after their 7-2 loss to Raiders Futsal Club at home. Cynthia Coghlan scored a goal in that loss and will look to find the back of the net again on Saturday.

South Coast Taipans vs SD Raiders Futsal, Saturday 10 December, 4:40pm, UOW Sports Hub

South Coast Taipans warm up for the finals against SD Raiders Futsal at UOW Sports Hub on Saturday afternoon.

The Taipans are locked into second spot on the FPL2 Open Womens ladder and aim to get ready for next weekend’s finals extravaganza with three points. They have plenty of goal scorers across the team including last week’s scorers Ellen Brown and Abigail Jordan which will have them in good stead for the finals.

SD Raiders Futsal have endured a tough end to their season having lost four of their last five games which saw them fall out of finals contention. Jessica Neville has been one of their consistent performers and look to put in a final shift on Saturday.

Phoenix Futsal Club vs Boomerangs FS, Saturday 10 December, 5:10pm, The Centre – Dural

We finish off the regular season with Phoenix Futsal Club hosting Boomerangs FS at The Centre – Dural on Saturday night.

Phoenix Futsal Club have had a tough year in the FPL2 Open Womens competition and will finish at the bottom of the ladder. They can finish on a high if they can breech the Boomerangs FS defence and cause an upset.

Boomerangs FS have locked in the Premiership and now are ready to make it a double with taking the championship trophy next weekend. Olivia Gurney scored a hat-trick in their huge win last week and aim to repeat the dose on Saturday.
