Football NSW has joined Heartbeat of Football in the launch of the inaugural ‘Heart Health Round’ – Make It Red! – in 2023.

The national awareness campaign will be turning football grounds across the nation red for heart disease and sudden cardiac arrest.

When you play or participate in red, you will be raising funds to support life-saving heart research in a bid to assist the Heartbeat of Football’s mission to have zero heart-related deaths on the sporting ground.

Football NSW CEO John Tsatsimas was proud to be supporting such an important initiative.

“We are thrilled to be continuing our partnership with Heartbeat of Football in the promotion of such an important cause,” said Mr Tsatsimas.

“We want football to provide participation opportunities for all ages, however it’s also important that there is an awareness of the issues that can arise and ensure we are encouraging the wider community to make positive health choices.”

“I’m looking forward to seeing football grounds across the state coloured red this April.”

Heartbeat of Football Founder Andy Paschalidis has encouraged all sporting clubs to get involved in making a difference together.

“We want people to keep being weekend warriors and playing the sports they love, but we also want them to be able to return home to their loved ones, so being aware, informed and taking preventative actions is a great start.”

Several key Australian footballing personalities have also thrown their support behind this initiative with Tim Cahill, Caitlin Foord and Heather Garriock providing messages of encouragement by getting behind the campaign.
