Eastern Suburbs Hakoah were crowned 2023 Winter Futsal Women’s Champions for the second consecutive season thanks to a 4-2 victory over Mountain Majik in the Grand Final played last Saturday.

Following a successful year, Eastern Suburbs Hakoah led by coach George Lethbridge saw his side work their magic in what was an unforgettable year for the club.

After consolidating a spot at this year’s final, Eastern Suburbs Hakoah had MVP and Golden Boot star Doris Osman to thank as she played a starring role in what was yet another remarkable year for the club.

Football NSW’s Futsal Manager Jordan Guerreiro was delighted with how this year’s Winter Futsal League for Women unfolded.

“It has been fantastic to see our clubs (Canterbury Bankstown Futsal, Eastern Suburbs Hakoah Futsal, Mountain Majik Futsal and United Futsal) who participated, rally behind the sport to ensure this competition is offered to our womens players and coaches in the game.

“Setting up these competitions aren’t always easy and there were a few scheduling issues that we experienced along the way, but it was great to see the players involved, who enjoyed their experience as I am sure they are all looking to return for a bigger and better 2024 season.

“We would like to thank the NSW Futsal Referee Association for their contribution to the competition providing match officials and want to congratulate Eastern Suburbs Hakoah as well as Doris Osman on an outstanding year.”

Football NSW is taking Expressions of Interest for the 2024 season where clubs can apply online and complete their application to get involved.
