Coaching Conference Speaker Confirmed: Leah Blayney

Football NSW are delighted to announce Leah Blayney as a guest speaker at the 2023 Football New South Wales Coaching Conference. 

Leah Blayney is the Head Coach of both the Young Matildas and the Future Matildas program. As a player Leah played professionally in Australia, the United States (for the Boston Breakers) and Sweden and represented Australia at the 2004 FIFA Under 19 Women’s World Championships and the 2006 FIFA Under 20 Women’s World Championships. She went on and played 16 international matches between 2004 and 2006

Leah has also served as an Assistant Coach in the Westfield W-League for 3 seasons prior to entering the national team coaching arena. She is holder of a Bachelor of Education (Secondary high school teacher obtained through College in the US). She has served as a second assistant with the Westfield Matildas as part of FFA’s Female Coach Mentor Program fulfilled lead scout roles for Australia at two Algarve Cup Tournaments, the 2016 Rio Olympics and the recent 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

The Katoomba-born coach has also worked as Head Coach of Football NSW’s NTC team and with the Football NSW Girls’ Institute Program. 

Leah will be delivering a practical coaching session on Day 1 of the 2023 Football New South Wales Coaching Conference.  

The 2023 Football New South Wales Coaching Conference will be held at Valentine Sports Park on Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th November. The two-day event, hosted by well-known football personality Stephanie Brantz, will see keynote presentations given by international and domestic special guests, with a raft of experience across all levels of the game. 

Coaches will once again have the opportunity to sculpt their own learning journey through a series of theory and practical break-out sessions allowing you to choose topics most relevant to your specific interests. 

Football New South Wales are also pleased to confirm that ticket prices for the event will be frozen and remain the same from the 2019 conference as a commitment to coaches having access to professional development opportunities. 

Coaches can purchase a one-day attendee pass (25 CPD Points) or a two-day weekend pass (50 CPD Points). 

Full attendance at each day earns participants 25 points per day towards FA/AFC licence reaccreditation as per the AFC Coaching Convention.
