St George FC will take on Hills United this Sunday at Valentine Sports Park after knocking out League One Women’s Premiers UNSW FC 2-1 after extra time at The Village Green played on Tuesday night.

The semi-final recommenced from the 93rd minute, following an unfortunate injury that abandoned the match on Sunday, with Caitlin Campbell’s free-kick which was swept away.

Neither team could find the back of the net so it headed into extra time.

It was a big moment in the 110th minute for St George. Campbell received the ball on the edge of the box before she fired the ball over a diving UNSW FC keeper Tiahna Robertson to make it 2-1.

The Saints had a chance to cement their Grand Final status from the spot. Jordan Baker was fouled which saw captain Nicole Besz step up but her spot kick was saved well by Robertson.

UNSW FC threw everything they could at St George FC in the final minutes but the Saints held on to march onto a Grand Final taking on Hills United.
