Everyone has shaken off the cobwebs and ready to go for Round 2 in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Womens competition.

There are four games to enjoy across Saturday as teams look to either bounce back or continue their strong starts.

Let’s get to the preview.

South Coast Taipans vs West City Crusaders, Saturday 23 September, 3:40pm, Illawarra Hockey Centre

South Coast Taipans host West City Crusaders in their game down at Illawarra Hockey Centre on Saturday afternoon.

The Taipans battled hard in their home opener but fell 4-2 to a dogged APIA FC Futsal side last weekend.

They will take heart into their game on Saturday after the shooting opportunities they had and hope to turn them into goals against the Crusaders.

Bronte Trew continued her strong form with a goal and the Taipans will have reinforcements this weekend to try and get three points.

Crusaders featured in the Match of the Round last weekend and were beaten by Sydney Futsal Club 8-2 after scoring first.

The Crusaders have a young team for the season and the team will take time to gel and pick up some results this campaign.

Custodian Alannah Ellul was a highlight in the defeat with some key stops against Sydney Futsal Club and might be called upon again.

SD Raiders Futsal vs Sydney Futsal Club, Saturday 23 September, 3:50pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

SD Raiders Futsal have their first home game against Sydney Futsal Club at Thomas Hassell Anglican College on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts were beaten in their first game of the season 7-4 against Sydney City Eagles at Morris Iemma Indoor SC.

Jessica Neville has been a constant presence for SD Raiders Futsal and will push them forward to challenge the visitors.

Sydney Futsal Club were Match of the Round winners in a dominant 8-2 win over West City Crusaders last weekend.

They put in one of the strongest performances of the weekend and coach John Jiggins will hope for a repeat performance on Saturday.

She might have only featured on the scoresheet once, but Annalise Schiraldi was pulling the strings for the Sydney Futsal Club attack in the win.

APIA FC Futsal vs Raiders Futsal Club, Saturday 23 September, 4:50pm, Valentine Sports Park

APIA FC Futsal welcome Raiders Futsal Club to Valentine Sports Park for their game on Saturday afternoon.

The newcomers produced the result of the weekend in their 4-2 win over South Coast Taipans in Unanderra last weekend.

They hope to follow up that win with another strong performance against one of last year’s semi-finalists in Raiders Futsal Club.

Charlotte Young led the scoring for APIA FC Futsal and she will hope to add to her goal tally in this game.

Raiders Futsal Club were in a shootout against Phoenix Futsal Club at Thomas Hassell Anglican College last weekend.

Nicole Ossio has been a consistent presence for Raiders Futsal Club and was on the scoresheet again in their defeat.

The visitors will want to bounce back in this game and get themselves in the winner’s circle for the first time in 2023.

Phoenix Futsal Club vs Sydney City Eagles, Saturday 23 September, 5:10pm, The Centre – Dural

Phoenix Futsal Club host Sydney City Eagles in their game down at The Centre – Dural on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts got off to a winning start after their 7-4 win over Raiders Futsal Club at Thomas Hassell Anglican College last weekend.

It was an all-round team effort from Phoenix Futsal Club and they will need a similar performance against the Eagles in Dural.

Sofia Issa led the way in scoring with two goals and her partnership with Emma Ingerson will be key for them.

Sydney City Eagles soared to an opening weekend win with their 7-4 success over SD Raiders Futsal at home.

Sheiden Jabour made an instant impact for the Eagles with her hat-trick and will hope for a repeat performance on the weekend.

Coach Roy Perre was enthusiastic about the side in pre-season, and they showed in the opener they will be one of the top teams in FPL2 Open Womens.
