The last of our Futsal Premier League Open Men’s sides are due to take the pitch in round three of the competition this weekend.

As such, our featured match this weekend will involve one of those two sides as Dural Warriors take on UTS Northside.

Mascot Vipers v Mountain Majik Futsal Club; Saturday 30 September, 5:20pm, Heffron Centre

Two last start winners face off as Mascot Vipers host Mountain Majik at the Heffron Centre, Saturday evening.

In a weekend of crazy comebacks, Mascot Vipers did just that against UTS Northside last weekend. Trailing 2-0 at the break, they were able to maintain pressure which turned the game as their experienced heads led them to victory.

Jonathan Barzel scored a brace for the Vipers while Ethan De Melo, Nathan Niski and Thomas Quilligan all opened their accounts. They’ll be looking to improve on that showing here.

Not to be underestimated are Mountain Majik who have two victories from their first couple of games. Last weekend, they claimed a big scalp in defeating Enfield Allstars away from home in a comeback victory.

Yes, five goals in the final ten minutes saw them emerge victorious. Three of them coming from Jordan Guerreiro who ended up with an eyewatering five goals in the fixture.

Boomerangs FS v Eastern Suburbs Hakoah; Saturday 30 September, 5:20pm, AIS Training Halls

Eastern Suburbs Hakoah take to the road in search of their first victory when they travel to the nations capital to face Boomerangs FS.

Third time lucky? Boomerangs will hopefully enter the Futsal action this weekend at AIS training halls.

Fired on by their top scorers from last season in Elle Darwich and Nicholas Dahl who will once again lead their attack in 2023. They will be hoping to get a first up victory at one of their home venues.

One side who will be keen to return to the pitch are Eastern Suburbs Hakoah who were on the wrong end of a stunning Quake comeback which left them rattled.

It’s not often you will concede three goals in the space of a minute, but they will be looking to use it as something to spur them on this weekend. Keep an eye out for keeper Noah Felich who made several big saves last weekend.

UTS Northside Futsal Club v Dural Warriors; Saturday 30 September, 6:05pm, PCYC Dee Why

Finally, in our pick of the action. UTS Northside host Dural Warriors who take to the pitch for the first time in 2023.

UTS Northside’s season opening home stand has brought mixed results so far after two games. In round one they proved too strong for Macarthur Quake while last week they were edged out by Mascot Vipers.

Futsalroo Grant Lynch has led their charge in the opening stages of the season with five goals in their two outings. It’s a big game and we’ll be there on the ground to cover it this weekend.

Keeping our fingers crossed, Dural Warriors will kick start their season here after round one and two postponements.

Aiming to improve on last seasons showing, they have multiple players backing up from a successful outdoor season while Wade Giovenali is set to join the Futsalroos imminently for the Asian qualifiers.

Macarthur Quake Futsal v Enfield Allstars will be played 19th October.
