The Futsal Premier Leagues 2 Open Womens competition heads into Round 4 full of plenty of action to enjoy across the four matches to be played on Saturday.

The slate is highlighted by the top of the table clash between Sydney City Eagles and APIA FC Futsal.

Let’s get onto the preview.

South Coast Taipans vs Sydney Futsal Club, Saturday 7 October, 3:40pm, Illawarra Hockey Centre

Kicking off the weekend is South Coast Taipans hosting Sydney Futsal Club at Illawarra Hockey Centre on Saturday afternoon.

The Taipans have been in ruthless form in the last fortnight scoring 31 goals against West City Crusaders and Phoenix Futsal Club.

Coach Kyle Del has the side firing on all cylinders and the Taipans have set an early pace for the other seven teams in the FPL2 Open Womens competition.

They share the goal scoring around but will be missing Ashley Kotevski for this game after her red card against Phoenix Futsal Club.

Sydney Futsal Club suffered their first loss in the 2023 competition to Raiders Futsal Club at Thomas Hassell Anglican College last weekend.

It has been a strong start to the campaign for Sydney Futsal Club and they will want to get back on track against the Taipans.

Sydney Futsal Club will look to Annalise Schiraldi and Annika Hansen to help them cause an upset at Illawarra Hockey Centre.

West City Crusaders vs Raiders Futsal Club, Saturday 7 October, 3:50pm, PCYC Hawkesbury

West City Crusaders face off against Raiders Futsal Club down at PCYC Hawkesbury on Saturday afternoon.

The Crusaders had their third loss of the season in their 7-4 defeat to Sydney City Eagles at Morris Iemma Indoor SC last weekend.

While it has been tough sledding for them through three weeks, Paris Vinuya has three goals in three games for the Crusaders.

This is their first home game of the campaign and that might be the lift they need to get their first points of the season.

Raiders Futsal Club picked up their first three points after beating Sydney Fustal Club at home last weekend.

It was a comeback which was powered by Nicole Ossio. She had a hat-trick in the win and will lead from the front again on Saturday afternoon.

The FPL2 Open Womens is tightly packed so putting together back-to-back results could lift Raiders Futsal Club into the top four.

SD Raiders Futsal vs Phoenix Futsal Club, Saturday 7 October, 3:50pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

SD Raiders Futsal welcome Phoenix Futsal Club to Thomas Hassell Anglican College on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts rescued a point in their 5-5 draw against highflyers APIA FC Futsal away from home last weekend.

Once again, Jessica Neville led the way for SD Raiders Futsal with a hat-trick and be hungry for further goals on Saturday.

SD Raiders Futsal have opened their account for the 2023 season and might use this as a springboard for their first win of the campaign.

Phoenix Futsal Club had a night to forget in their 15-1 loss to South Coast Taipans in the Match of the Round.

Teresa Morabito was a bright spark for Phoenix Futsal Club in the defeat with a goal and some combination work.

They hope to shake off the defeat and remember their strong form in the first two weekends and get back into the winner’s circle.

Sydney City Eagles vs APIA FC Futsal, Saturday 7 October, 4:20pm, Morris Iemma Indoor SC

Rounding off the weekend is Sydney City Eagles and APIA FC Futsal at Morris Iemma Indoor SC on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles soared to a comfortable 7-4 win over West City Crusaders at their home ground last weekend.

The hosts have been a free scoring team through three games with 19 goals scored and aim to find the back of the net regularly in this game.

APIA FC were involved in a wild 5-5 draw against SD Raiders Futsal at Valentine Sports Park last weekend.

They have made a good start to their life in FPL2 Open Womens and look to be the only unbeaten side in the competition after Saturday afternoon.

This is a mouthwatering clash early in the season between these two teams and promises to be an exciting contest.
