Coaching Conference Speakers Confirmed: David Perkovic and Gary Rafferty

Football NSW are delighted to announce David Perkovic and Gary Rafferty from NWS Spirit FC as guest speakers at the 2023 Football NSW Coaching Conference.

David Perkovic is the current Men’s NPL Head Coach and Senior Men’s Technical Director at NWS Spirit FC.  He has been coaching for 16 years including 12 years as a First Grade coach. David enjoyed a sting coaching professionally in the Philippines for two seasons and has just finished his 7th season with NWS Spirit FC. In the 2022 season he lead the team to promotion into NPL NSW Men’s and lifted the 2022 Waratah Cup.

Gary Rafferty is current Head Of High Performance at NWS Spirit FC. Originally from Glasgow in Scotland, Gary relocated to Sydney and has added here in Australia to his many years of experience in football which has seen him work across 3 different continents. In addition, he has been a speaker and presenter on topics such as Injury Prevention in Youth Sports, Long Term Athletic Development and Football Periodisation at Sports Industry Conferences and Workshops.

Both David & Gary will be co delivering a theory session on Day 2 of the Coaching Conference providing key insights into utilising GPS Units & Data effectively within NPL environments – an insight into NWS Spirit FC.

The 2023 Football NSW Coaching Conference will be held at Valentine Sports Park on Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th November. The two-day event, hosted by well-known football personality Stephanie Brantz, will see keynote presentations given by international and domestic special guests, with a raft of experience across all levels of the game. 

Coaches will once again have the opportunity to sculpt their own learning journey through a series of theory and practical break-out sessions allowing you to choose topics most relevant to your specific interests. 

Football NSW are also pleased to confirm that ticket prices for the event will be frozen and remain the same from the 2019 conference as a commitment to coaches having access to professional development opportunities. 

Coaches can purchase a one-day attendee pass (25 CPD Points) or a two-day weekend pass (50 CPD Points). 

Full attendance at each day earns participants 25 points per day towards FA/AFC Diploma reaccreditation as per the AFC Coaching Convention.
