Heading into Round 9 of the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Mens competition, this is where teams need to start finding their form if they want to make the top four. This weekend there are four games to enjoy across Saturday afternoon and night. Let’s get onto the preview.

Sydney Futsal Club vs SD Raiders Futsal, Saturday 11 November, 4:30pm, NC of Indigenous Excellence

Sydney Futsal Club hosts SD Raiders Futsal in their game at NC of Indigenous Excellence on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts were impressive in their 10-2 result against West City Crusaders away from home last Saturday night.

This is a big game for Sydney Futsal Club in their chase for the top four and they could take down a team who sits five points ahead of them.

The combination between Omid Mokhtar and Dion Kellis was huge in the win and they will need them firing again on Saturday.

SD Raiders Futsal triumphed in a high-scoring affair 10-8 against Sydney City Eagles at Thomas Hassall Anglican College.

The visitors will be keen to repeat the performance from Round 2, where they won 8-5 and solidify their top four position.

Simon Nicholas and Matias Pez stood out in their win and both will be keen to add to their goal tally on Saturday.

Raiders Futsal Club vs APIA FC Futsal, Saturday 11 November, 4:30pm, Thomas Hassall Anglican College

Raiders Futsal Club face off against APIA FC Futsal down at Thomas Hassall Anglican College on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts won in a tight tussle against Phoenix Futsal Club 4-3 in their game at The Centre – Dural last weekend.

Raiders Futsal Club sit in second spot in the FPL2 Open Mens ladder and look primed to defend their title again in 2023.

They will be without Justin Chan Frias after their red card late in the win against Phoenix Futsal Club last weekend.

APIA FC Futsal held a lead four times before they were held to a 6-6 draw against South Coast Taipans in last weekend’s Match of the Round.

They have started to find their rhythm in the last few games and have started to make their push for a semi-finals spot after Round 14.

Guilherme Mazurkievicz Pansonato is the fulcrum for the APIA FC Futsal attack and will lead the way again in this contest.

West City Crusaders vs South Coast Taipans, Saturday 11 November, 6:30pm, PCYC Hawkesbury

West City Crusaders welcomes South Coast Taipans to PCYC Hawkesbury for their game on Saturday night.

The Crusaders were well beaten 10-2 by Sydney Futsal Club in their game at PCYC Hawkesbury last Saturday night.

The hosts will be hoping they can put up a better showing in this home game and dent the title hopes of the Taipans.

Crusaders did play their Round 7 game on Tuesday night which saw them win against Phoenix Futsal Club 9-5.

South Coast Taipans showed off their spirit in a 6-6 draw with APIA FC Futsal at Valentine Sports Park last weekend.

The Taipans remain on top of the FPL2 Open Mens ladder and hold a four-point advantage over the chasing pack.

It was a superb performance from youngster Jyden Harb who tallied twice including a backheel goal and he will be keen for a repeat performance.

Sydney City Eagles vs Phoenix Futsal Club, Saturday 11 November, 6:30pm, Morris Iemma Indoor SC

Sydney City Eagles host Phoenix Futsal Club in their game down at Morris Iemma Indoor SC on Saturday night.

The Eagles will be looking to bounce back after their 10-8 loss to SD Raiders Futsal at Thomas Hassall Anglican College last weekend.

Despite the loss, it was a fantastic performance from Anthony Tomelic who scored twice in the loss and will aim to find the back of the net again.

They will need to start getting a move on if the Eagles want to swoop for a semi-finals spot in the final five weeks of the season.

Phoenix Futsal Club battled hard but fell to a 4-3 loss to the finals chasing Raiders Futsal Club on their home turf.

The visitors have another catch up with their Round 7 fixture against West City Crusaders to be played on Tuesday night.

They have shown some solid grit in recent weeks and hope that it can lead to picking up another valuable three points.
