Football NSW Squads Announced for 2024 National Futsal Championships
Football NSW have announced the twenty-eight teams set to compete at the 2024 National Futsal Championships to be held at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre in Queensland from Friday, 5th January to Tuesday, 9th January.
The teams will compete in each of the following categories: U12 – U16 Boys, Youth Men and Open Men, plus U13, U15, U17 Girls, Youth Women and Open Women, and Open AWD (Athletes with Disabilities) Mixed.
Football NSW Futsal Manager Jordan Guerreiro stated his excitement about the tournament with the hopes of the state capturing as many titles as possible.
“Football NSW has always been a strong advocate of Futsal and we’re keeping the momentum going at the upcoming National Futsal Championships by backing our Futsal State Team programs for boys and girls in all age groups to do well.
“We see these championships as a key player in developing future stars and fostering talent for Futsalroos from NSW and it’s not only about the players, we’re also keen to showcase the great coaches and referees that our state has to offer.
“In 2024, we’re sending a total of 28 NSW teams (both Metro and Country squads).
“Plus, off the back of Australia hosting the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, we’re expecting some top-notch talent amongst our female ranks to star at the event.
“It’s going to be an absolute blast and a tournament we cannot wait to see kick-off.”
Delivered by Football Queensland in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland and Major Events Gold Coast, the 2024 National Futsal Championships will form part of Football Queensland’s Summer Festival of Futsal which will also feature Football Threes, Beach Soccer exhibition matches and the Gold Coast International in the following days.
Football Queensland will be live streaming 49 games over the course of the tournament. This includes all Grand Finals, 13 Semi Finals and 8 round robin games per day.
The broadcast channels will be through Football Australia’s YouTube account and via the National Futsal Championships Facebook page.
