Open Women Grand Final: Macarthur Quake Futsal v Mountain Majik Futsal Club; Sunday 17 December, 3pm, Valentine Sports Park
After a free-flowing couple of semi-finals, Macarthur Quake will face off with Mountain Majik in our 2023 Open Women’s grand final.
Both these sides won their semi-final in style winning by a multiple goal margin. Macarthur Quake accounting for premiers UTS Northside while Mountain Majik got the best of Mascot Vipers in the other semi-final.
We’ll start with Mountain Majik who triumphed 10-5 over Mascot Vipers in a 15-goal game. They did well keeping their opposition at arm’s length with Ella Buchanan and of course Clare Holder leading the way for the Majik.
However, any coach will tell you it’s just as much about the players around the scorers and they all stepped up to overcome the Vipers. Julian Lam delighted with his team’s performance post-game.
Their opponents on the day will be Macarthur Quake who were very impressive in their victory over UTS Northside. Mel Keith’s side had plenty of motivation after their heartbreak last weekend and they more than proved their point on the pitch.
Leading the way in that one was Alvina Khoshaba who scored four of her sides goals to continues her breakout season. They are well coached; however, they will need to overcome a poor record in the big game.
If their last game is anything to go by, this will be a close one. Both these sides won a game each in their regular season meetings.
