Strong NSW Officials line-up to feature in this Saturday’s A-League Grand Final

Football NSW would like to congratulate match officials Kearney Robinson, Brad Wright, Hugh Fenton-White, and Kris Griffiths-Jones who will feature in this Saturday’s 2023-24 A-League Men’s Grand Final between Central Coast Mariners FC and Melbourne Victory FC at Industree Group Stadium in Gosford.

Robinson, who began his refereeing career with North West Sydney Football Referees, will make his second appearance as a Grand Final Assistant Referee, also being on the deciding match in 2020, in addition to the last three Grand Finals as Assistant VAR.

Wright, originally from Macarthur District Football Referees Association and who was the Reserve Assistant Referee for last year’s Grand Final, will make his debut as an Assistant Referee this year, while Fenton-White (North West Sydney Football Referees) will see his first involvement in a Grand Final, serving as the Reserve Assistant Referee.

Griffiths-Jones will also be part of the officials panel as the Assistant VAR 1.

It’s been a busy month for NSW officials.

In the opening of the 2024 Finals Series, Wright, Robinson and Griffiths-Jones featured on the Elimination Finals. Wright was appointed Assistant Referee on the Sydney FC versus Macarthur FC match at Allianz Stadium on Saturday 4th May 2024, with Griffiths-Jones as Assistant VAR 1.

The second elimination match on Sunday 5th May 2024 between Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City at AAMI Park saw Robinson appointed as Assistant Referee with Griffiths-Jones a VAR.

As the Finals Series moved into semis, Ben Abraham was appointed as the referee in the first leg semi-final match between Sydney FC and Central Coast Mariners at Allianz Stadium on Friday 10th May 2024. Abraham was assisted by two NSW assistant referees, Matt McOrist and Andrej Giev as well as Griffiths-Jones as VAR and Robinson as Assistant VAR 2.

Fenton-White featured on-field in the first leg semi-final match between Melbourne Victory and Wellington Phoenix at AAMI Park on Sunday 12th May 2024 where he was appointed Assistant Referee. Robinson was again appointed as Assistant VAR 2.

The second leg semi-final match between Wellington Phoenix and Melbourne Victory at Sky Stadium on Saturday 18 May 2024 saw Abraham appointed as the Fourth Official.
